20 minute drive from the center of Martin), residents may visit the
Bowring Ranch or Cottonwood Lake. The Arthur Bowring Sandhills

Historical
Park features a unique view
of the
history
of ranching
and the cattle industry from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. Cottonwood
Lake State Recreation Area Campground offers power boating, picnicking,
and fishing opportunites, as well as a children's playground.
To
the east and west along Highway 18, the Rosebud
Sioux Tribe and the Oglala
Sioux Tribe preserve their heritages on tribal ground.
North of Martin, the Badlands of South Dakota create beautiful landscapes
worthy
of exploration.
